Heating Woes Recurring

Like a bad penny, the heat exchanger has once again clogged up thus negating any real hot water . This time we will install a filter unit as had been attempted last year to try and stave off this annual headache.. It is a major problem with our exceptionally hard water and one which should be addressed by the commune rather than each individual. Job now done and back in full operational mode so we will see what transpires over the ensuing months

Landscaping

The time has come to start clearing the dead flowers and foliage and to start landscaping various areas where we will be planting some new shrubs and trees and installing various items of use and interest. Most of this is around the pool area to give an evenmore secluded and friendly area than it was this year, if such is possible.

The development and fitting out of part of the barn to give various amenities is progressing well. We are also in the process of carrying out the landscaping and renovation to the front of the building to bring out the full character of the stonework and general environ.

The maintenance of the pool has now been included into the weekly work schedule. The surrounding landscaping is still in the progress srage but the pool is fully operational and to date has afforded quite a few happy wallowing hours in the water. A heating system of sorts has been added but the benefit of such has yet to be determined.

Landscape Progress

Now that the pool has almost been completed, the process of landscaping the surrounding area has begun. The removal of an elderberry tree to limit the damamge caused by leaves and the effects of bird droppings around the pool. The creation of a concreted slab base on which to erect a gazebo tent is well underway with the incursion of weeds and other uninvited vegitation being curtailed through concreted ditches and dividing fences.

The main area around the pool outside of the flagstones wil be gravelled with walkways of tiles and duckboards to break up the scene and to make the transition from pool to seat without foot protection a relatively painless experience.

The Glamour of Summer

All that is needed is an open mind and a visionary imagination that allows the inherent magic and beauty of plants and flowers to enter and be awesome in their depiction and to let their unique forms and music attend the human senses.

Weather inclemency continues

Given that the reason for moving to the south of France was for the pleasures and enjoyment achievable by clement weather there appears to be some communication breakdown along the way. We are entering another 4/5 days of incessant rain having had a couple of dry days in between. Normally such would not be a problem but with the roof lying bare, untiled and the pool in the middle of a mudbath, all is not as it should be or as it was supposed to be.
